Ven was a member of the Peace Brigade, a group of galactic citizens that cooperated with the extra-galactic Yuuzhan Vong invaders during the Yuuzhan Vong War. In 25 ABY, Ven served as Reck Desh's bodyguard alongside a man named Wotson when Desh, the Peace Brigade's leader, travelled to Kuat City on the planet of Kuat. There, the trio entered the Nebula Orchid diner to meet an informant,^[1] secretly New Republic Senator Viqi Shesh.^[2] While Shesh told Desh of a captured Yuuzhan Vong priestess, Ven and Wotson sat at a nearby table and kept watch. Ven, Desh, and Wotson pursued the informant into the streets after the meeting concluded, but lost sight of the person.^[1]
