The Vendusii sector was an area of space located in the galaxy's Mid Rim. Containing the Haluria and Vendusii star systems, the sector was passed through by the Llanic Spice Run hyperlane and was home to Halurian ice-boars. The Vendusii sector was explored by the year 1000 BBY and at various points in time fell within the borders of the Galactic Republic, Galactic Empire and Darth Krayt's Sith Empire.

DescriptionEdit

The Vendusii sector was a space sector located in the galaxy's Mid Rim.[1] A part of the Trailing Sectors region,[2][1] by the year 0 ABY the sector bordered the Lambda sector in the Coreward direction and the Herdessa and Daimar sector in the[1] spinward[2] direction, while sharing the[1] trailing[2] border with the Far Xandil and Ryndellian sector. Together with the Daimar and Ryndellian sector, the Vendusii sector formed the Rimward border of the Mid Rim region, neighboring the Cadavine, Kibilini and Karthakk sector of the Outer Rim. The Vendusii sector contained the Haluria system,[1] which was home to the creatures known as Halurian ice-boars,[3][4] and the Vendusii system,[1] the origin point of the Vendusii Crystal mineral.[6][7] The Llanic Spice Run[1][2] hyperlane passed through the sector close to its border with the Daimar sector.[1]

HistoryEdit

Explored between the years 3000 and 1000 BBY, the Vendusii sector was located within the Galactic Republic–controlled space during the Clone Wars,[2][1] a galactic conflict between the Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems.[2] During the first campaigns of that conflict, the sector lay within the area the Republic's Seventeenth Army operated in. By the years 17 BBY[5][1] and 137 ABY,[2] the Vendusii sector fell within the borders of the Galactic Empire[5][1] and Darth Krayt's Sith Empire, respectively.[2][1]

Behind the scenesEdit

The Vendusii sector was first mentioned in Star Wars: The Essential Atlas Online Companion, an online supplement[1] to the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, which was authored by Jason Fry and Daniel Wallace.[2]

Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas, stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. This article treats the Haluria system as the location of one such homeworld with regard to the Halurian ice-boar.

Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for the Vendusii Crystal in relation to the Vendusii system.
