The Venerated Ones were descendants of the original discoverers and colonizers of the planet of Vandelhelm. They held great cultural significance among the citizens of that planet. During the Galactic Civil War, two of them were placed in jeopardy by an Imperial plot. They were rescued by the Rebel hero Han Solo. This act of kindness then led to Vandelhelm continuing to supply the Rebel forces.
