The Verachen were members of the Vratix race who were the ones responsible for mixing alazhi plants with kavam, creating the bacta healing liquid. "Verachen" was the Vratix word for "master blender". Although the creation of bacta is not a very difficult process in itself, the potency of the created bacta varies due to the fact that alazhi is a grown plant. A Verachen has mastered the subtleties of the alazhi plants, and ensures the quality and efficiency of the final bacta batch. Verachen also understand how to alter the mixing procedure to have the bacta made stronger against a specific problem, like the Krytos virus.
