Veren Gal was an ancient Sith archaeologist who spent many years on Korriban during the era of the Jedi Civil War, researching the tombs in the Valley of the Dark Lords.

His datapad was discovered in the Tomb of Ajunta Pall on Korriban by Revan. It stated that he had found traces of Therangen in the tomb. He thought that perhaps the ancient Sith on Korriban used it as a power source. Revan used this knowledge to pass the Therangen pillar on the way to the tomb's sarcophagus.
