Vine snakes were venomous serpents found in jungle regions of planets such as Kashyyyk, Dagobah, and Wayland. Yoda shared his home with them on Dagobah.

They would lie in wait on branches, or among vines for camouflage, waiting for prey to pass underneath. They then dropped down and killed their victims through gradual constriction.

Vine snakes made up several breeds. Some were thick with brown scales and black mottling. A smaller breed were thin and black with yellow striped patterns.
