Captain Vocis Kenit was the former commanding officer of the Far Orbit.
Kenit was born in Hallu Sector, in the Mid Rim. He became a cadet during the Imperial Navy's expansion in 12 BBY. After graduating from the Imperial Naval Academy on Lianna, his first tour of duty was as a Junior Lieutenant on the Semqi Pefis, a Victory-class Star Destroyer. He quickly established himself as a stickler for detail, and a loyalist to the New Order, reporting suspected political heterodoxy to the ISB.

His second tour was at Thomquizzar Naval Base. Within 12 years he became a captain and gained the command of the Far Orbit. He led a bloody but ultimately successful campaign against the Silent Blades in the Outer Rim. His opportunism, ruthlessness and mania for discipline however led to a full-scale mutiny and his marooning by his former crew.
Weeks later, he was found and imprisoned as he awaited his court-martial. At the last moment, however, he was reprieved by Sate Pestage, who commuted his death sentence with the understanding that he would be responsible for bringing down the renegade Far Orbit and its new commander, Dhas Fenoep Vedij.
He took command of the Feline, another EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate, and set about laying several traps against his former ship.
He suborned the pirate chief Venslas Beeli after his capture, infecting him and his crew with Vira606, a pathogen created by the ISB, to which the Galactic Empire held the only antidote. The pirate and his ships were set against the Far Orbit in an effort to draw it out and destroy it. This plot failed, however.
The second trap involved a Sienar freighter filled with elite Imperial troops, made as a decoy while an Interdictor cruiser jumped into range.
Following the dramatic capture of the Emperor's Will Star Galleon by the Far Orbit, Kenit was contacted over the Holonet by Emperor Palpatine. He was slain for his failure before he could defend his actions.
Ironically, Kenit had developed a means of tracking the Far Orbit using the Corusca gems pillaged from the Star Galleon. The secret of tracking down the rogue vessel died with him.
