Vonzel was a smuggler who once worked and associated with Roa and Han Solo. When he botched an emergency landing, Vonzel sustained considerably injuries and a considerable number of his organs had to be replaced. Despite his survival of this ordeal, Vonzel's injuries left him disfigured and invalid, resulting in the prospect of remaining connected to a life-support system for the rest of his life.
