Walter Emanus was a Professor at the University of Corellia, where he was friends with Cornelius Wagglehorn. In 1 ABY, he led an archaeological expedition to Yavin 4, that excavated the Temple of Exar Kun. However, when the team uncovered the catacombs beneath the temple, they awakened the spirit of Exar Kun and became enslaved to it, becoming the Cult of Exar Kun. He left a diary of his experiences, that was later found by a group of spacers.
