Watkins was a member of Grey Squadron under the command of Jedi Knight X2. During a mission to the planet Dathomir, Watkins was killed when an Imperial saboteur planted a det pack on his X-Wing. He died because he lost too much blood. Before he died, the squadron members Tavoy and Ryder found him. Watkins told his Captain, X2, that an imperial assassin had killed him.
