White dwarf stars were small stars formed at the end of a small to medium mass star's evolution. These stars could no longer sustain nuclear fusion of hydrogen, and only gave off faint light from their residual heat.

Ardos, the primary of the original Hutt homeworld of Varl, was a white dwarf star. Some interpretations of Hutt legends implied that unlike most white dwarfs, Ardos may have become a white dwarf through artificial means.
