This subpage contains instructions on how to archive past Comprehensive Article nominations. The archived votes can be found here.

Successful nominations

Once an article has a total of three EduCorps votes or two EduCorps votes and three user votes after at least one week (or four EduCorps votes after at least 48 hours) and no outstanding objections, the article can be officially known as a "comprehensive article." This table can be used to determine if an article is eligible to be removed from the Comprehensive article nominations page:

Time elapsed Day 1
24 hours
Day 2
48 hours
Day 3
72 hours
Day 4
96 hours
Day 5
120 hours
Day 6
144 hours
Day 7
168 hours
More than 168 hours (more than one week)
Required votes Cannot pass Can pass with four EduCorps votes Can pass with three EduCorps votes or at least five votes, of which at least two must be EduCorps votes
  • Remove CAnom from article page and add "comp" to Eras.
  • Add the following to talk page with appropriate dates and IDs (the number at the end of the URL in the page history). The first date is when the article was nominated, and the corresponding ID should be the revision of the article when CAnom was added. The second date is the date that the article was given CA status, and the corresponding ID is that of the revision when the CA circle was added. For example, on Holding Back the Tide the first ID is 3185636 and the second ID is 3201624.

    • When adding article to Wookieepedia:Comprehensive articles, display it like Bob (naval officer) or Victorious (Acclamator-class), as opposed to Bob or Victorious.

Failed nominations

Nominations that are inactive with outstanding objections after one week may be eliminated from the nomination list with a consensus of at least 3 EC support votes. This consensus of 3 support votes may alternatively be obtained from present users in IRC. CANs may be closed prematurely with a consensus of at least 3 EC support votes if they fall below the required standard and cannot realistically be fixed. This consensus of at least 3 EC support votes may alternatively be obtained from present users in IRC, in which case a note will be left on the CAN page that the nomination has been removed via EC consensus.

Removing failed nominations

  • Remove CAnom from article page.
  • Add the following to talk page with appropriate dates and IDs (the number at the end of the URL in the page history). The first date is when the article was nominated, and the corresponding ID should be the revision of the article when CAnom was added (for articles nominated during the trial period, the corresponding ID should be the revision that was "current" as of the date/time of nomination). The second date is the date that the nomination was removed, and the corresponding ID is that of the revision when CAnom was removed.

Overriding CAN objections

EduCorps members have the power to strike objections on the Comprehensive Article nomination page provided the objection has been addressed and the original objector has been absent for at least a week after an "objection addressed" comment is left on the CA nom page. This requires a quorum of at least 2 EduCorps members approving the removal of the objection, and less than 2 opposed. Additionally, CAN objections can be struck by an EduCorps member (as well as by any admin) if they do not fall under one of the rules. No vote is required.

To initiate a vote to override an objection, add the following under the CAN's comments section:

Vote to strike objection (EC only)
The EduCorps member who initiates the vote should state clearly which objection needs striking and why. All EduCorps members should use the EC template when voting, and clearly indicate whether they support or oppose overriding the objection.

When the decision has been taken to override an objection, add the following as a comment under the objection, in addition to striking it:

~~~~~
CA status review
The EduCorps has the ability to strip an article of CA status.
Probation
With the approval of at least 3 EduCorps members and less than 2 opposed, an article being considered for removal of CA status can be placed on probation as follows:
  • Add the following to the top of the article (if the article has been previously reviewed by the EduCorps, use a new name for the parameter):
  • Follow the redlink in the above template and add the following to the page:
<div style="background:#EEEEEE; border:1px solid #AAAAAA; padding:5px">Wookieepedia &gt; Wookieepedia:EduCorps &gt; PAGENAME</div>
<!-- write after this line, please -->
Things to do
Removal of CA status
Comments
  • List the issues that need rectifying under "Things to do" and state the meeting at which the article was placed on probation under "Removal of CA status."
After a probation period of at least two weeks, a second EduCorps vote is required to decide whether or not to remove CA status. This vote requires 3 EduCorps members to agree on the outcome, with less than 2 disagreeing.
Keeping CA status
If CA status is kept:
  • Remove Cacleanup from article page
  • Add the following to talk page with appropriate dates and IDs (the number at the end of the URL in the page history). The first date is when the article was nominated for removal and the corresponding ID should be the revision of the article when Cacleanup was added (if the template wasn't added on the nomination date, pick the revision as of the date and time of nomination). The second date is the date that the removal nomination was archived and the corresponding ID is that of the revision when Cacleanup was removed. Using a GA as an example, on Zayne Carrick the first ID is 1982312 and the second ID is 2059191.
Removing CA status
If CA status is removed:
  • Remove Cacleanup from article page and change "comp" to "fca" in eras
  • Add the following to talk page (replacing ) with appropriate dates and IDs (the number at the end of the URL in the page history). The first date is when the article was nominated for removal and the corresponding ID should be the revision of the article when Cacleanup was added (if the template wasn't added on the nomination date, pick the revision as of the date and time of nomination). The second date is the date that the article was stripped of CA status and the corresponding ID is that of the revision when the CA circle was removed. Using a GA as an example, on Missile Boat the first ID is 2056762 and the second ID is 2095534.
|oldid=Nominated ID
Striking items from the meeting agenda
To remove an item from a future meeting agenda, a consensus of three ECs is needed. This can be achieved via IRC or using the meeting page itself. If you use the meeting page, format it like this:
*Article - update needed. --ExampleUser1
**Updated. --ExampleUser2
***Vote to remove article from meeting agenda (EC only)
***EC ~~~~
When three ECs have signed, the article can be struck from the agenda.
