Successful nominations
Edit
Once the minimum nomination period has passed, an article that has achieved the required number of supporting votes and has no outstanding objections can be added to the queue and be officially known as a "featured article." A nomination will be considered successful if one of the following criteria is met:
- five supporting Inquisitor votes and no outstanding objections after at least a week;
- four supporting Inquisitor votes, plus two additional supporting votes and no outstanding objections after at least a week;
- three supporting Inquisitor votes, plus four additional supporting votes and no outstanding objections after at least a week; or
- seven supporting Inquisitor votes and no outstanding objections after at least two days.
This table can be used to determine if an article is eligible to be removed from the Featured article nominations page:
| Time elapsed | Day 1 24 hours | Day 2 48 hours | Day 3 72 hours | Day 4 96 hours | Day 5 120 hours | Day 6 144 hours | Day 7 168 hours | More than 168 hours (more than one week) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Required votes | Cannot pass | Can pass with 7 Inqvotes | Can pass with the following vote counts:
| |||||
To place an article on the FA queue:
- Ensure the Inquisitorius approval template has been added. If not, add the following to the comments section:
{{Inqapproved|~~~~~}}
- Ensure that the queue has an entry for the appropriate week. The entry should be of the form:
==[[Date of first day of week (Monday)]] (Week number), [[2014]] – [[First FA]] and [[Second FA]]==
{{Wookieepedia:Featured article queue/Week number, 2014/0}}
{{clear}}
----
{{Wookieepedia:Featured article queue/Week number, 2014/1}}
{{clear}}
- Copy intro and image, paste into appropriate page by following the next available redlink on the queue. Turn the bolded article title into a link. Align the image (if applicable) to the left, at a size of 150px, and have it link to the article (i.e.
[[File:Image name.jpg|left|150px|link=Article name]]). Add {{Rm|article name}} to the end. Add {{FAlink}} after this with a link to the week's other FA. - Remove {{FAnom}} from article page and add "featured" to {{eras}}
- Add the following to talk page with appropriate dates and IDs (the number at the end of the URL in the page history). The first date is when the article was nominated and the corresponding ID should be the revision of the article when {{FAnom}} was added (if the template wasn't added on the nomination date, pick the first revision after it was nominated). The second date is the date that the article was given FA status and the corresponding ID is that of the revision when the FA star was added. For example, on Maarek Stele the first ID is 1547634 and the second ID is 1574797. {{FeaturedBetween}} takes the date for the Monday of that week and either a 0 or a 1 depending on whether the article is the first or second article to be featured in that week.

- Paste this into nom archive page (the "Featured article" link that will appear in the above template):
{{subst:FA archive|successful}}
- Remove the "Featured article nominations" category from the bottom of the archive page.
- Remove the appropriate transcluded nomination template from the FAN page.
- Add article to FAN history, giving start and end dates (yyyy/mm/dd) and outcome with link to archived vote.
- Add article to Wookieepedia:Featured articles. (If the article was previously a GA, remove it from Wookieepedia:Good articles/Random and Wookieepedia:Good articles.)
- Note: As per Forum:CT Archive/Re-featuring restored Featured Articles take 2: No gap!, all Featured articles that have been re-promoted to FA status will also be added to the queue like new FAs.
- Note: Do not add articles to Wookieepedia:Featured articles/Random. This list is for those that have already appeared on the main page.
- Paste this onto the user talk page of the nominator:
{{Subst:FA notify|article name|~~~~}}
Failed nominations
Edit
Nominations that are inactive with outstanding objections for 3 weeks can be eliminated from the nominations list by the Inquisitorius. FANs can be closed prematurely if they fall below the required standard and cannot realistically be fixed. Doing so requires a quorum of at least 5 Inquisitors approving the removal of the nomination, and less than 2 opposed. Any Inquisitor can prematurely close a FAN without the need for a vote if it is requested by the nominator.
Voting to remove
Edit
To initiate a vote to remove a nomination, add the following under the FAN's comments section:
====Vote to remove nomination (Inq only)====
The Inquisitor who initiates the vote should state clearly why the nomination should be removed. All Inquisitors should use the {{Inqvote}} template when voting, and clearly indicate whether they support or oppose removing the nomination.
Removing failed nominations
Edit
To remove a failed nominee from the FAN page:
- Remove {{FAnom}} from article page.
The second date is the date that the vote was closed the corresponding ID is that of the revision when {{FAnom}} was removed. For example, on Massacre at Ossus the first ID is 2053906 and the second ID is 2086487.

{{Ahf|status=FFAC}}
- Paste this into nom archive page ((the "Failed featured article candidate" link that will appear in the above template):
{{subst:FA archive|unsuccessful}}
- Remove the "Featured article nominations" category from the bottom of the archive page.
- Remove the appropriate transcluded nomination template from the FAN page.
- Add article to FAN history, giving start and end dates (yyyy/mm/dd) and outcome with link to archived vote.
Overriding FAN objections
Edit
Inquisitors have the power to strike objections on the Featured Article nomination page provided the objection has been addressed and the original objector has been absent for at least a week after an "objection addressed" comment is left on the FA nom page, but only with a quorum of at least 5 Inquisitors approving the removal of the objection, and less than 2 opposed. Additionally, FA objections can be struck by an Inquisitor (as well as by any admin) if they do not fall under one of the rules. No vote is required.
To initiate a vote to override an objection, add the following under the FAN's comments section:
'''Vote to strike objection (Inq only)'''
The Inquisitor who initiates the vote should state clearly which objection needs striking and why. All Inquisitors should use the {{Inqvote}} template when voting, and clearly indicate whether they support or oppose overriding the objection.
When the decision has been taken to override an objection, add the following as a comment under the objection, in addition to striking it:
{{Inqstrike|~~~~~}}
FA status review
Edit
The Inquisitorius has the ability to strip an article of FA status.
Probation
Edit
With the approval of at least 5 Inquisitors and less than 2 opposed, an article being considered for removal of FA status can be placed on probation as follows:
- Add the following to the top of the article (if the article has been previously reviewed by the Inquisitorius, use a new name for the parameter):
{{FAremove|{{subst:PAGENAME}}}}
- Follow the redlink in the above template and add the following to the page:
<div style="background:#EEEEEE; border:1px solid #AAAAAA; padding:5px">'''[[Main Page|Wookieepedia]] > [[Wookieepedia:Inquisitorius]] > {{PAGENAME}}'''</div>
[[Category:Wookieepedia Inquisitorius FA review]]
<!-- write after this line, please -->

===Things to do===
===Removal of FA status===
===Comments===
- List the issues that need rectifying under "Things to do" and state the meeting at which the article was placed on probation under "Removal of FA status".
- If the article is due to be featured on the main page within the probation period, rearrange the FA queue to move it back.
After a probation period of at least two weeks, a second Inquisitor vote is required to decide whether or not to remove FA status. This vote requires 5 Inquisitors to agree on the outcome, with less than 2 disagreeing.
Keeping FA status
Edit
If FA status is kept:
- Remove {{FAremove}} from article page
- Add the following to talk page with appropriate dates and IDs (the number at the end of the URL in the page history). The first date is when the article was placed on probation and the corresponding ID should be the revision of the article when {{FAremove}} was added (if the template wasn't added on the nomination date, pick the first revision after it was nominated). The second date is the date that the article was taken off probation and the corresponding ID is that of the revision when {{FAremove}} was removed. For example, on Zayne Carrick the first ID is 1982312 and the second ID is 2059191.

{{Ahf|status=FA}}
- On the Inquisitorius review page, state the meeting at which the article's FA status was kept under "Removal of FA status".
- Change the header on the Inquisitorius review page to:
<div style="background:#EEEEEE; border:1px solid #AAAAAA; padding:5px">'''[[Main Page|Wookieepedia]] > [[Wookieepedia:Inquisitorius/Archives]] > {{PAGENAME}}'''</div>

Removing FA status
Edit
If FA status is removed:
- Remove {{FAremove}} from article page and change "featured" to "former" in {{eras}}
The second date is the date that the article was stripped of FA status and the corresponding ID is that of the revision when the FA star was removed. For example, on Missile Boat the first ID is 2056762 and the second ID is 2095534.

{{Ahf|status=FFA}}
- Replace {{Featured}} with {{FormerFA}} on the talk page. A parameter can be used if the Inquisitorius review page differs from the article name.
- On the Inquisitorius review page, state the meeting at which the article's FA status was removed under "Removal of FA status".
- Change the header on the Inquisitorius review page to:
<div style="background:#EEEEEE; border:1px solid #AAAAAA; padding:5px">'''[[Main Page|Wookieepedia]] > [[Wookieepedia:Inquisitorius/Archives]] > {{PAGENAME}}'''</div>
[[Category:Wookieepedia Inquisitorius former FAs]]
- Remove article from Wookieepedia:Featured articles.
- Remove article from Wookieepedia:Featured articles/Random.
- If the article has not yet featured on the main page, remove it from the queue and move another article up in its place. Remove {{FeaturedBetween}} from the article's talk page.
Reduxing FAs
Edit
If an FA is decided to undergo a redux review on the FAN page, do this:
- Create a [[Wookieepedia:Featured article nominations/article name (redux review)]] page.
- Use the following code:
==[[Article name]] (redux review)==
*'''Redux comments''': Article was [[Wookieepedia:Inq/Redux page|Reduxed]] per [[Wookieepedia:Inq/Meeting number|INQ <meeting number>]]. (give reasons why)
*'''Date added''': {{subst:CURRENTMONTHNAME}} {{subst:CURRENTDAY}}, {{subst:CURRENTYEAR}}
*'''Changes since last review''': [URL diff]
===(0 Inqs/0 Users/0 Total)===
====Support====
====Object====
====Comments====
- "URL" comes from comparing the difference between selected revisions on the article's history page—the first date should be the revision that saw the article most recently became a Featured Article, unless it has since undergone Featured Article review. If so, the first date should be the revision that saw it most recently keep its Featured Article status. The second date should be the most recent revision.
- Add {{/article name (redux review)}} to the bottom of the FAN page.
- Add {{FAredux}} to the top of the reduxed FA. If the article is already under probation, replace {{FAremove}} with {{FAredux}}, changing the link to the review page to the link to the article's Redux entry.
Keeping FA status following Redux
Edit
When the article has received four supporting votes, at least two of which are from Inquisitorius members, do this:
- Remove {{FAredux}} from the reduxed page.
- Add the following code to the article talk page:
{{Ahh}}
{{Ahm
|date=Probation date
|oldid=Probation ID
|process=FAR
|result=Kept
}}
{{Ahm
|date={{subst:CURRENTMONTHNAME}} {{subst:CURRENTDAY}}, {{subst:CURRENTYEAR}}
|link=Wookieepedia:Inq/{{Subst:PAGENAME}}
|process=FA
|oldid=Kept ID
}}
{{Ahf|status=FA}}
- Follow the link (which will be a redlink if the article wasn't on probation before it was reduxed) to the review page.
- If the page does not yet exist (if it wasn't on probation before), add this to the page:
<div style="background:#EEEEEE; border:1px solid #AAAAAA; padding:5px">'''[[Main Page|Wookieepedia]] > [[Wookieepedia:Inquisitorius/Archives]] > {{PAGENAME}}'''</div>
[[Category:Wookieepedia Inquisitorius FA review successful]]

*Kept on {{subst:CURRENTMONTHNAME}} {{subst:CURRENTDAY}}, {{subst:CURRENTYEAR}}. ~~~~
===Redux review===
*[[Wookieepedia:Featured article nominations/article name (redux review)]]
===Comments===
- If the review page already exists, change the header on the Inquisitorius review page to:
<div style="background:#EEEEEE; border:1px solid #AAAAAA; padding:5px">'''[[Main Page|Wookieepedia]] > [[Wookieepedia:Inquisitorius/Archives]] > {{PAGENAME}}'''</div>
[[Category:Wookieepedia Inquisitorius FA review successful]]
- On the review page, state the meeting at (or the date on) which the article's FA status was kept under "Removal of FA status".
===Redux review=== *[[Wookieepedia:Featured article nominations/article name (redux review)]]
- Remove {{/article name (redux review)}} from the FAN page.
- Paste this onto the top of [[Wookieepedia:Featured article nominations/article name (redux review)]]
{{subst:FAredux archive|kept}}
Removing FA status following Redux
Edit
If the article fails Redux review due to four weeks' inactivity on objections, do this:
- Remove {{FAredux}} from the reduxed page and change "featured" to "former" in {{Eras}}.
- Add the following code to the article talk page:
{{Ahh}}
{{Ahm
|date=Probation date
|oldid=Probation ID
|process=FAR
|result=Removed
}}
{{Ahm
|date={{subst:CURRENTMONTHNAME}} {{subst:CURRENTDAY}}, {{subst:CURRENTYEAR}}
|link=Wookieepedia:Inq/{{subst:PAGENAME}}
|process=FFA
|oldid=Removed ID
}}
{{Ahf|status=FFA}}
- Replace {{Featured}} with {{FormerFA}} on the talk page. A parameter can be used if the Inquisitorius review page differs from the article name.

[[Category:Wookieepedia Inquisitorius former FAs]]
- On the review page, state the meeting at (or the date on) which the article's FA status was removed under "Removal of FA status".
===Redux review=== *[[Wookieepedia:Featured article nominations/article name (redux review)]]
- Remove {{/article name (redux review)}} from the FAN page.
- Paste this onto the top of [[Wookieepedia:Featured article nominations/article name (redux review)]]
{{subst:FAredux archive|lost}}
- Remove article from Wookieepedia:Featured articles.
- Remove article from Wookieepedia:Featured articles/Random.
- If the article has not yet featured on the main page, remove it from the queue and move another article up in its place. Remove {{FeaturedBetween}} from the article's talk page.
Updating queue and history
Edit
The queue and history pages need to be updated once a week as articles are featured on the main page:
- Cut articles featured in the current week from the top of the queue and paste them to the end of the history.
- Add the previous week's FAs to Wookieepedia:Featured articles/Random in alphabetical order.
- Update the templates for the next week's FAs (for example Wookieepedia:Featured article queue/Week 37, 2008/0) to reflect any changes to infobox image and intro since the article was placed on the queue.
