Zuckuss

Things to do
Edit
- Update tag
- Needs a good copyedit
- Expanded introduction
- Slight reworking of some of the prose that lends to OR
- Fails the LG as it stands now
- Desperately needs the Bts rewritten and sectioned for cohesion
- Unsourced paragraph in "Early life."
- Check for info in various ESB adaptation. Toprawa and Ralltiir can assist with providing any info.
- Got two down for Zuckuss (novelization and junior novelization, thanks Master Fred!), gonna hunt on YouTube for the audio so I can tackle that one. Trak Nar Ramble on 06:20, December 22, 2010 (UTC)
- Added a couple of obscure sources in which Zuckuss is (Picture only). Master Jonathan

- Eh, y'know what? I want a project that may see a chance of getting done. And I have the Official Starships and Vehicles Collection 8. I've had some experience with writing FANs on SWFanon, so cleaning up a FA can't be too difficult. I may take a stab at this. Trak Nar Ramble on 02:40, September 13, 2010 (UTC)
- Oh, I updated it and removed the tag awhile. Trak Nar Ramble on 05:39, September 13, 2010 (UTC)
- After three nights of copy-editing, reorganization, updating, expansion, adding sections, and rewording, I've done all that I can for Zuckuss. He's in the Inq's hands now. Trak Nar Ramble on 04:25, September 15, 2010 (UTC)
- A few other things I'd like to mention:
- Over the past few months I've added some sources to Zuckuss's list, but never really thoroughly checked for new information. So all those sources (except the ones I just added now) should be checked out. You're also bound to find more sources by simply looking through which articles Zuckuss is linked to.
- All ESB adaptations and related material should also be checked.
- Speaking of newer sources, The New Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology mentions his use of ammonia bombs, so that's something that could be added to the "Equipment" section.
- The article could use some formatting cleanup, especially in the sources and references lists, ie using the correct templates, listing separate editions properly, etc. Also, the sources list currently links to at least two disambigs (A Guide to the Star Wars Universe and Galaxy Guide 3: The Empire Strikes Back) so those need to be split up (there's also a quote attributed to the latter). I'd like to see his action figures listed individually using the templates we have instead of simply listing what toy line he appears in. Finally, the Fact File ref needs to include page numbers. Listing just the issue number means nothing to someone who's ripped out the pages and organized the FFs by page and section, which is how they're designed to be organized.
- The image placement could use some work, particularly in the "Rebel agent" and "Equipment" sections.
- His Bts could still use work, and is there nothing else on the development and creation of the character? Xicer9

- Yeah, I was tempted to at least nix one of the images from "Rebel agent" and then reorganize the ones in "Equipment." Already, an extraneous image from "Yavin Vassilika" was nixed, along with that image from the EGtC. Those sections were quite cramped. Now with the addition of another section, spacing out the two image in the Equipment section should be easier. Zuckuss getting kicked in the head, though, is currently on my list of images to nix. He's got a link to the image category, his article need not be flooded with every image he has. Trak Nar Ramble on 03:34, September 16, 2010 (UTC)
- Updated the ammonia bombs bit, relocated an image from the Equipment section, tweaked some sources, clarified the FF reference, about to nix an image from Rebel agent, and as for what edition that quote attributed to GG3 comes from? I haven't a clue. The page I have is from the second edition and I had seen no such quote. And as for what else could be added to the Bts in terms of the creation of the character... I remember reading somewhere that bubble wrap was used for the eyes of the mask. Wish I could remember where I had read that, as I would add it, but I can't source it. Trak Nar Ramble on 03:46, September 16, 2010 (UTC)
- The quote seems to be from the first edition, which has a similar, but slightly different entry on him. Xicer9

- Any of that slight difference worth mentioning? Or is it merely a difference in the amount of elaboration the second edition had? Trak Nar Ramble on 04:18, September 16, 2010 (UTC)
- The only difference that really stood out to me was the last paragraph: "Zuckuss has accumulated an impressive list of captures to go along with a list of quite a few "accidental kills." His fees are exorbitant, and it is obvious that by hiring this alien, Lord Vader would spare no expense in his quest to catch a certain smuggler and his companions." Xicer9

- Another thing I noticed in a number of sources, particularly How the Other Half Hunts, page 58 of Alien Encounters, and Zuckuss's entry in Scum and Villainy was that apparently whatever was done to heal his lungs wasn't entirely successful. Last I checked his stats, he's still missing about 4 points of Constitution, AE said that "Despite the Alliance's best efforts, the damage done to Zuckuss's body was extensive," and SaV said that his "questionable health continued to deteriorate." So, going by that logic, the effects of his surgery was temporary or even didn't work. I've been debating whether to mention that in his article for a while now, though I had made a note of it in the Final Fate section. Should any of that be mentioned earlier in the article, however? Trak Nar Ramble on 05:49, September 17, 2010 (UTC)
- Oh, from the "Rebel agent" section: "Forced at gunpoint, Zuckuss lied to Bossk about how the operation was proceeding." Technically, this is incorrect. The comic's dialogue clearly has Zuckuss being forced to Fett-wank at gunpoint. But since we can't really term it as "Fett-wank," as that'll be unencyclopedic, then should this be reworded or just left as is? Trak Nar Ramble on 03:10, September 21, 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks to Tope, Zuckuss should be up to snuff now. Every single thing that he pointed out has been fixed, I've copy-edited the article to hell and back, tackled a bunch of niggly bits, resourced and referenced to each individual issue of SotE, and tweaked the formatting where needed. References are in proper order, the "Final fate" has been renamed to "Later life" in the event that an author feels like playing with Zuckuss, extra unnecessary references were nixed, and wording was tweaked. Every paragraph is cited or self-referencing (in terms of the Bts) and Tope says it looks good enough to survive the gauntlet. Good luck on Saturday, Uncanny One.
