Interview request by ProfessorTofty[]

Submitted on: 22:19, March 19, 2015 (UTC)
Purpose: Jason Fry is the author of such titles as The Clone Wars: Darth Maul: Shadow Conspiracy and the upcoming The Weapon of a Jedi: A Luke Skywalker Adventure, as well as reference works like The Essential Guide to Warfare. Recently, he was written two titles in the Servants of the Empire series and has two more coming out this year to complete the series. This interview would focus mainly on the two titles in that series, but would be open for other questions as well. I messed up on the last interview, but this one would be open for anyone to submit questions before I send off the questions for the actual interview.

Discussion[]

  • Fry's Servants of the Empire is a fascinating addition to the Star Wars universe. I'd love to learn more about it and it'd be great to learn more about some of Fry's other titles as well. Since his e-mail is publicly available on his website, I figure it's worth a shot. ProfessorTofty (talk) 22:19, March 19, 2015 (UTC)
    • I hesitate to say this when we haven't recorded an episode yet (first episode will be recorded on Wednesday) but I'd rather save bigger names like this for the WookieeCast. Not sure how well it'd go if we did an email interview and then, potentially soon after, asked him to be on the podcast. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 22:29, March 19, 2015 (UTC)
      • Oh, okay! I didn't think of that, and, well, I already submitted the request. I suppose, though, that if I get a response, I could just ask him if he would be willing to hold on it and do WookieCast instead. ProfessorTofty (talk) 22:38, March 19, 2015 (UTC)
        • According to Wookieepedia:Interviews, you're supposed to get approval before sending an interview request. That should have been done before you sent an email. It also says "Do not submit multiple interviews to a given VIP in a short period of time (think months)," which also put WookieeCast in a bind. But the cat's out of the bag now, and my intention certainly isn't to scuttle people taking the intiative. Please just let me or Floyd know what Jason says before you reply further. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 22:57, March 19, 2015 (UTC)
          • Oops. Well, I think it's okay. I've already sent him another message letting him know about Wookieecast and that it would be better to hold for now, so I don't think we have to worry about any conflict as far as multiple requests go. Besides, there's been so little action with this lately that I think a little slack could probably be allowed. ProfessorTofty (talk) 23:02, March 19, 2015 (UTC)
            • Brandon - I just heard back and he's quite alright with waiting -- he said he's happy to help us out with whatever we need. So no worries. ProfessorTofty (talk) 00:38, March 20, 2015 (UTC)

Dear Mr. Fry:

My name is REDACTED and I'm a member of the Star Wars online encyclopedia Wookieepedia (http://starwars.wikia.com), which, from your page on there, I understand you're already quite familiar with. I've enjoyed reading your books and about them on Wookieepedia and your website and am hoping to find out more. We hope you will agree to an e-mail interview, which would consist of questions from both myself and submitted by members of Wookieepedia.

You are free to choose to omit or reject any question that is asked, for whatever reason. We understand that there are some topics that may need to be saved for future stories or that you otherwise aren't at liberty to answer, particularly in regards to upcoming titles such as "The Weapon of a Jedi: A Luke Skywalker Adventure." The contents of the interview, simply the questions and answers, would be considered as licensed as licensed by CC-BY-SA. You can find more at community.wikia.com/wiki/Community_Central:Licensing. I would also ask that should any answers need clarification or lend to other questions, one round of follow-ups be permitted, but this is up to you.

We hope that you will agree to this interview and look forward to learning more about the exciting stories like "Servants of the Empire" and your many other excellent "Star Wars" works.

In care of the Wookieepedia community,
