This page is considered an official policy on Wookieepedia. It has wide acceptance among editors and is considered a standard that everyone should follow. Except for minor edits, please make use of the discussion page to propose changes to this policy.

Unless it is an integrated part of a MediaWiki update (as released on MediaWiki.org and not forced into a MediaWiki update by Wikia developers), any new feature deployed by Wikia must be disabled by default on Wookieepedia until it has been properly approved in the consensus track.

If the functionality of any new feature violates any existing policy such as the layout guide or the manual of style, there must first be a consensus track discussion to allow an amendment of policy to accommodate the new feature, and after that discussion is closed and the amendment is approved and implemented, there must be a separate discussion to activate the new feature.

This policy is not immediately retroactive to features currently active on Wookieepedia but may now be referred to if any existing but inactive feature is activated or reactivated without the consent of Wookieepedia administration.
