The driving goal behind WookieeProject: The Old Republic is the improvement and maintainance of Wookieepedia articles related to the LucasArts MMORPG, Star Wars: The Old Republic. The announcement of the game inspired a multi-platform multimedia project that is comprised of novels, comic books, and other media. This project includes all of these various forms of media within its scope. Specific works within The Old Republic timeframe can be found in the novel series and comic series. The project will also be covering topics related to the material released via the official site's HoloNet feature.

Due to the nature of the game itself, there is little certainty as to the canonical conclusion to many stories presented within this timeframe. As such, there is plenty of room for speculation. Please note that such speculation has no place on Wookieepedia, and a major goal of this project is to avoid conjecture and assumption and eliminate it where we can.

If you would like to contribute to Wookieepedia as a member of this project, please take a look at our mission and other articles of quality, such as those that have attained Featured, Good, or comprehensive status. If you ultimately decide to join, please add your name at the bottom of this page under the "participants" section.

Writing and editingEdit

1. Always use proper grammar and spelling.
2. Write articles from a balanced and neutral point of view
3. Adhere to all site policies as listed on the Manual of Style, Layout Guide
4. Properly source all information in an article via either reference tags or self-sourcing statements.
5. Ensure all quotes and pictures are properly formatted, attributed, and sourced.
6. Always include a thorough and well-written "Behind the Scenes" that makes note of the subject's origin and relation to the series.
7. Please note that all sources released via the official site's HoloNet feature are to be listed under the "Sources" section of an article. This does not include the Galactic Timeline, which should be under "Appearances".

What not to doEdit

1. Do not add speculation or conjecture to articles.
2. Do not add any unsourced information to articles.
3. Do not initiate or engage in edit wars. Although it is our mission to improve articles, we do not have sole jurisdiction over them, and are therefore not exempt from Wookieepedia policies on editing and reverting. If you require help on such an issue, please contact a fellow WP:TOR member or a member of the Wookieepedia administration.
4. Do not add "fate unknown" to articles.
5. Do not source anything to fan websites.

A note on character articlesEdit

Please note that, per this this consensus, it is Wookieepeida policy that all Old Republic character articles be written under the assumption that Republic player characters (Jedi Counsular, Jedi Knight, trooper, smuggler) select the light side dialogue options in story-line conversations. Conversely, it has been agreed that articles for Imperial player character articles (Sith Inquisitor, Sith Warrior, Imperial agent, bounty hunter) are to be written under the assumption that the dark side conversation options are selected by the player.

Wookieepedia does not assert that these are the canonical story resolutions, and as such, editors are required to place the following tags on articles wherein such assumptions are found:

• For Republic characters: {{GameLS}} and {{GameLSmechanics}}
• For Empire characters: {{GameDS}} and {{GameDSmechanics}}
