Should we really delete something that just because it isn't in English? That seems a little ethnocentric on our part. Also, we would have to delete most of the images for Crimson Empire II. -- SFH 20:07, 9 Nov 2005 (UTC)

  • This is an English Wookieepedia. If you'd like to start a separate version in another language, that's fine with us. We already have pages in Spanish and Norwegian.-- Riffsyphon1024 20:18, 9 Nov 2005 (UTC)
    • What pages have the other languages? I noticed that there's a French Star Wars wiki at Wikicites now. How do we link to it? I tried using [[fr:Catégorie:Batailles]] like on Wikipedia, but it didn't seem to work. WhiteBoy 07:15, 9 Dec 2005 (UTC)
  • Well, sense I only speak English, I would have some trouble in making a foreign language wiki. But sense it this is an English wiki, I suppose it makes sense. -- SFH 20:21, 9 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Automatic Deletion[]

So... I still have to list the pictures I put a ifd tag on here?

  • Correct. It doesn't automatically add them to the page. WhiteBoy 07:28, 15 Jan 2006 (UTC)
  • Which is why this should probably be replaced with a template driven tag. --SparqMan 16:40, 15 Jan 2006 (UTC)
  • Why don't we make this into a dynamic list, like the vandal and speedy deletion pages? --Xwing328(Talk) 02:20, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

We could use a dynamic list, but the problem is that such lists do not allow us to explain why the image was listed for deletion:

PageLast EditLast Contributor

One possible solution would be to modify the {{tl|ifd}} template so that a specific explanation could be provided… –SentryTalk 06:41, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

  • I was just thinking we could add an extra variable after ifd to explain the reasons. Ex: {{ifd|OB by [[:File:Example.jpg]]|~~~~}} --Xwing328(Talk) 17:50, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
    • Yup, I'll get to work on it.–SentryTalk 23:46, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Over-zealous?[]

Sorry, I may have gotten a little over-zealous there with the pics. I just haven't stopped by this page in a while, so I was trying to catch up a bit.  :) I just now realized that a lot of them weren't posted until yesterday, so feel free to revert if you think we need to let those stew a little longer. WhiteBoy 07:28, 15 Jan 2006 (UTC)

Skipray images[]

What's the deal, didn't like the skipray pics? I thought they were pretty accurate, and well done for a new guy to photoshop like me. Maybe someone should compare my pics with the skipray schematics that were on the same page. Unsigned comment by Snackynak (talk • contribs).

DC17 com pistol.png[]

I cleaned up the copyright section and summary. It should match standards now. If it doesn't, please let me know what I can do to finish it.

I think it is the best image of the DC-17 commando pistol we got here.

Han Solo as a Tie Fighter Pilot[]

I have not read many Star Wars comics but I am glad that they exist. I truly like the illustrations along with the story background. I know there have some issues about Lieutenant Han Solo. I have been searching for picture of Han Solo in a Tie Fighter suit with a long laser pistol in his right hand. It was in Wookiepdia that I saw it but images on that site come and go. I have since Googled it and have had no luck.

If anyone knows what I am talking about please respond to this thread.Thank You

Pics of Rank Insignia[]

User:Nayayen does not approve of 8 of the images uploaded by me for insertion in the new Prettytable at Rank insignia of the Galactic Empire. He claims that they are duplicates and should be deleted.

5 of the 8 claimed duplicates are in my opinion, even though smaller in size, better quality when it comes to sharpness, color and uncut space surrounding the characters. Two Examples here: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Images_of_Conan_Antonio_Motti http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Images_of_Cassio_Tagge

One of the claimed 8 “duplicates”, the one of Rom Mohc from dark forces, might be a smaller version, but it is not manipulated and deformed (stretched vertically) like the exiting one which is compared to. My upload, even if Rom Moch might seem squashed, IS how he appears in Dark Forces 640x480 format: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Images_of_Rom_Mohc

This leaves the only two “duplicates” that I can agree on being duplicates. The Imperial Recruiter and Tarkin's promotional photo from EPI 3. These new uploads, even though based on other existing pics, where necessary to get a zoomed in view of the Imperial rank insignia. The pics are all used in a context where the insignia is in focus and where pictures share a common format. ( Rank insignia of the Galactic Empire )

I of course ask for the pictures not being deleted--Davidvcsandersen 13:10, February 28, 2012 (UTC)

  • Just noting that I've explained my reasoning on Davidvcsandersen's talk page. nayayen★talk 14:54, February 28, 2012 (UTC)

File:FistovsGrievous.png[]

I've converted the picture to .PNG in order to avoid artifacts when used as a thumbnail on articles. That gives a slight benefit over Kit Fisto vs Grievous.jpg (left):

  • I was looking at them full size, and I saw no advantage of the PNG version you uploaded over the JPG version from SW.com. That's why I marked the PNG for deletion, I saw no reason to replace the perfectly fine JPG image. However, I wasn't considering the effects on thumbnails of the images, and didn't even know there was a viewing difference between the full size (no difference) and when viewed as a thumbnail where you state JPG artifacts do present themselves. - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 22:51, September 23, 2012 (UTC)
