Jedi Council UnionEdit

Well i didn't find out where i nominated sites to Wookieepedia's Official Friends, so if a Web master find this, i would like to nominate the forum union, The Jedi Council Union as a official friend. It's a forum that talks and discusses about Star Wars. We often find info on Wookieepedia, and find good quotes here. The union has over 500 SW fan members and would love to become Wookieepedias Official Friend. If you would like to talk more, please contact me. --Doffen 01:52, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

Abel G. Peña accepts!Edit

"Arthur, Happy anniversary to the Wookieepedia crew! Your media release looks terrific. What you guys have been able to do in just one year is amazing, and I can barely imagine how far along you guys will be by next year. Thank you for the invitation and I'd be honored to be Wookieepedia's first official friend!  :)Here's wishing you much success for the future, as a group and personally. Take care, Abel."

Random Acts FilmsEdit

Hey, my site Random Acts could put up banners and whatnot if y'all want. -- Doo Doo 00:15, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

Link Edit

Could this be linked to from the Official Friends section of the main page? Kuralyov 03:24, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

  • Will do, just made it a bit more presentable first :-) --Azizlight 08:07, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

CriteriaEdit

Hello. What is the criteria for proposing a site? I apologize if I have overlooked the answer. - Brandon Rhea 22:26, March 27, 2006 (UTC)

  • I don't think any real criteria has been set down for proposing a site just yet, so go right ahead. Once you have nominated a site, Wookieepedians will vote on whether or not we'll link to the site. --Azizlight 21:35, 28 March 2006 (UTC)

Query: Edit

Can I nominate my own site, well forum really? [1]. Hopefully some of you old guys will remember me, I haven't been the most active person lately. Real life and all getting in the way, I just popped in to take a look--Nice new look, by the way--Anyways, yeah I remember asking about affiliating with the Star Wars Wiki back when I joined. I have kept a topic with a link to this place in my announcements board since June 05. I always give affiliates a link to their site from my site's entry page. --beeurd 02:34, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

WordmarksEdit

Perhaps Wookieepedia should feature the wordmarks from the Wiki's they are affiliated with? User:Byzantinefire 22:16, June 30, 2013 (UTC)

Official Star Wars Pocketmodels Website?Edit

The star wars pocketmodel website is linked as a friend on the homepage, but missing on this page. Is it still a official wookipedia friend?Lord T'Tam (talk) 05:28, November 8, 2015 (UTC)

  • As far I know, the process was approved. However, I am no longer seeing the link to the site on the main page anymore. I have been doing research and focusing on that, so someone let me know what's happening and I'd appreciate it. Additionally, the hosting server changed it's framework and the forums and elements of the SWPM Site are currently down until I can run the hosting files through a filter to match what they are using. The removal of the link may have had to do with this if links to elements on the Wook have been broken as a result of the hosting server's changes. —GethralkinHyperwave 20:26, July 5, 2016 (UTC)
    • This website was removed from the list of Official Friends at the most recent Mofference. The fact that the site has been dead for the past two years or so was a major factor in the decision. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 20:30, July 5, 2016 (UTC)
      • The site isn't dead. It is still being paid for. The game gallery of teextual elements has always been a feature from which images and text have been linked to Wookieepedia articles to display references used that have relevant "flavor" canon (or, legends, as the terminology may be) established and/or supported from the Lucasfilm licensed game. I don't know if a Mofference trumps the official process for adding and removing here, but if you post those procedures without a waiver explaining that a Friend can be removed without the process, then you give the impression that a site is not being properly removed, or I am not seeing the link on the Removal list? I could have missed it. What I did find, when looking, was this: Wookieepedia:Official Friends of Wookieepedia/Archive#The Official Star Wars PocketModels Website and Facebook page .2814.2F3.2F0.29 which includes the Official SWPM Facebook Page: (https://www.facebook.com/swpocketmodels) that is still live and active and contains video and images of the game in specific albums pertinent to that material. So, both the site and community FB page were voted to be added as Friend (14/3/0). Not that I am trying to get you to keep it as a friend, especially in its current condition (and especially if links are broken on Wook as a result), but I am trying to understand your procedure here. If there are rules for adding and removing, then why post them if they are subject to waiver. And if such waiver exists, common courtesy would be to state that in the process rules and post a decision of removal, done via Mofference and waiving the official process, under the Removal list. It's the term "Friend" that comes to mind in this, and how you may be perceived in the way you treat yours. —GethralkinHyperwave 20:58, July 5, 2016 (UTC)
        • The Official Friends nomination/removal processes are merely extensions of Wookieepedia's overall community-consensus system, which governs everything on this wiki. Generally, we divide things such as Official Friends, Consensus Track votes, or Trash compactor votes by individual voting page, but no rule exists mandating that votes be held only within the confines of these pages. On the contrary, such is the purpose the Mofference serves. If you wish to regain your website's status as an Official Friend, you're welcome to renominate it at any time. Cheers. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 21:07, July 5, 2016 (UTC)
          • Sure thing! I would rather wait until I have the site up and running again. I just didn't want fans of the game, like the above poster, thinking that it was a ninja attack. And I do recommend mentioning a disclaimer that a Mofference would take precedence over rules, or at least a post and link to the Mofference minutes so that persons would see that it was done in that manner. I know it may not be regular, but licensed sites (as the SWPM site has been, though the game is now out of print) are a bit different from fansites or "personal" websites. I also get tired of seeing Wookieepedia elitism being bandied about just because this wiki strives for the quality it deserves, and I don't want such removal to be thought of as such elitist ninja dark arts. And, might I add, bravo for rolling with the changes here with the new continuity!  ;) —GethralkinHyperwave 21:41, July 5, 2016 (UTC)
