This is so stagnant!
Edit
Most of these are nominated for ages... Can't they be moved to their appropriate places? --UVnet 07:34, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah sorry, I started this "feature" but haven't been maintaining it. I'll revive it now! --Azizlight 00:29, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

Jedipedia
Edit
Hello,
in May 2006 the German SW Wiki "Jedipedia" was nominated for "Official Friend of Wookieepedia". There were 4 supporting votes and no objections. On October 12th, Jedipedia was removed from the nominations list without deciding upon the status and without any comment. We were just wondering about the reasons for removing the nomination. The reason why Jedipedia was listed in the first place was that we established a partnership with Wookieepedia in May 2006, recommending it on our main page in the language navigation & at the bottom of the page in the "Jedipedia partners" box as well as in the community portal as "friends of Jedipedia". I was asked by fellow Jedipedians if Jedipedia somehow lost its status or if there were any reasons for deciding against "friends" status. We are also interested in a clarification about the differences between "partnership" and "friends" status.
Thank you very much! RC-9393 21:07, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
- The partnership that we have with Jedipedia is much more than just being an "official friend." The way I see it, Jedipedia is basically the German version of Wookieepedia - more like a "marriage" than a "friendship." By contrast, an "official friend" is merely an acknowledgment and loose association between us and the friend - "We like you, and you like us." I removed the nomination because it was redundant in the fact that we had already partnered with Jedipedia. This should not be taken as a loss in status at all. :) WhiteBoy 15:06, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for this explanation, I passed the information on to the Jedipedia staff! During the last few weeks we became the second largest SW Wiki after Wookieepedia - but are still way behind your incredible amount of articles. It's good to know that we are "married" to such a strong and popular partner ;-) RC-9393 15:58, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
- PS: The interwiki links to Jedipedia still direct to the old server "www.starwars-chroniken.de/wiki". We moved to a new server in September and the new address ist "www.jedipedia.de/wiki", so all links in the "Deutsch" language boxes are broken. The issue was discussed here, but nothing happened ever since and users are getting annoyed by the broken links. Do you have any idea about how this problem could be solved? Merchandise
Edit
Does anyone remember what happened to the friend request for Star Wars Merchandise? I vaguely remember there was a similar requirement as for SWGames that they have 500+ articles, which they do now.... -- sannse (talk) 06:59, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
Whats going on
Edit
When are these nominations going to be reconised by the Wookieepedian comunity? It seems like nothing has been going on.

Oh well, looks like this page is indeed pretty much dead. Ausir(talk) 22:09, September 14, 2010 (UTC)
- To respond to Ausir, who I'm assuming is looking for some kind of response to his current WOTM nomination, the fact of the matter is, Official Friends has really become an archaic feature here on Wookieepedia. There has only been one successful nomination in the past 2+ years, for a number of different reasons, mostly because Wookieepedia is already "friends" with the most prominent Star Wars online communities. The bulk of Official Friend requests we get nowadays are from websites no one has heard of. It's exceedingly rare when we'll actually get a request from someone who will benefit Wookieepedia as much as they would benefit from us. Mostly, the requests are just small Internet projects looking to feed off Wookieepedia's success while offering almost nothing in return. I know I personally look down on most requests with almost automatic disdain just from experience, as I'm sure many do, which is why your current nomination is getting no response. - Yeah, I already guessed as much from reading the archive. Thanks for the reply anyway! I just noticed the "official friends" section and thought it would be a good idea to nominate the SWTOR wiki. Ausir(talk) 22:41, September 14, 2010 (UTC)
Possible nom
Edit
Shouldn't we be nominating JMAS' site as an official friend? SoresuMakashi(Everything I tell you is a lie) 11:11, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
- With all due respect, I'm not sure JMAS's site gets much traffic and I can't see any advantage in it for Wookieepedia. -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 18:06, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
Star Wars Action News Rejected?
Edit
Given that Star Wars Action News had 5 votes for, no neutral, no against, why was it moved to the unsuccessful nominations group? Swactionnews 16:28, 24 February 2009 (UTC)
