See Forum:CT:Restrictions on custom user signatures and Forum:User sig policy for the discussions leading to the creation of this page. —Silly Dan (talk) 16:10, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

I am going to edit the page from saying You may have only one change in font color. to You may have only one font color. to be more in compliance with the outcome of the vote and less ambiguous, as "Change of font color" could be interpreted several different ways. Wildyoda 22:53, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

  • Actually, I think that "You may have only one change in font color" makes more sense in this context because we cannot really deny users the right to use the default link color.
PS: Silly Dan, thanks for putting this page together. I was planning on writing this up today and was happy to find it already finished =) –Sentry Talk 23:11, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
    • How about "you may have only one additional font color beyond the defaults"? jSarek 23:25, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

This is rediculous. It can't have subscript? And also, {{PAGENAME}} is used on Erl's sig. -Darthtyler

  • Superscript and subscript nesting (i.e. more than one level of subscript or superscript) isn't allowed. As for Erl's sig, he hasn't really been around in a long time. —Silly Dan (talk) 11:26, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Template namespace[]

It says it can be in the user namespace. This doesn't mean it has to be in the user namespace though, right? {{SUBST:Template:Signatures/C Teng}} 18:06, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

  • You seem to be misreading it somewhat. It says "If you are using a template for your custom signature (such as {{User:Username/Sig}}), you must enter {{subst:User:Username/Sig}} in your preferences." The reason it uses that as an example is because that's the only place you can do it. For one thing, it's your signature, so why the hell would it be anywhere else? Green Tentacle (Talk) 18:17, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
    • It's the policy on another wiki. Okay, how about I redirect Template:Signatures/C Teng to User:C Teng/Signature? Technically, I'm not breaking any "rules". --C Teng [talk] 23:39, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
      • User stuff goes in the user namespace. User stuff—including redirects—doesn't go in any other mainspaces. What's so difficult to understand about that? -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 10:45, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
        • Fine, okay, I won't make the template. I was only wondering if I could because that's the policy on something else. --C Teng 14:50, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
          • Which other wiki is that, and why do they forbid using a "User:" namespace template? —Silly Dan (talk) 16:24, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
            • Who cares? I said I wouldn't. --C Teng 21:44, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

Need Help for Signature![]

How do you guys put the little icon at the end of your signature (Bounty Hunter, Republic, etc.)? Please help! <~Kg®imes2~> 23:33, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Signature Policy[]

Why do you have this? There is no point for it. Anyone can have their signatures the way they want. -- MichaelCrichtonfan24 (PF24) ( Talk ) Michael Crichton!!!!!!!!!!!progress-wheel.gif 02:08, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

Why is it also that we can only have one font color? -- MichaelCrichtonfan24 (PF24) ( Talk ) Michael Crichton!!!!!!!!!!!progress-wheel.gif 02:09, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
Only one change in font colour: you can have half your sig in red and half in blue if you like. —Silly Dan (talk) 02:13, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
Only ONE change in font color? Why?-- MichaelCrichtonfan24 (PF24) ( Talk ) Michael Crichton!!!!!!!!!!!progress-wheel.gif 02:15, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
To Pirakafreak24: Please read Forum:CT:Restrictions on custom user signatures and Forum:User sig policy for explanations on why this policy was created (already linked at the top of this page). Also, Forum:CT:Sig policy revisited may be of interest. Likewise, since you have been warned already about your signature, myself or another administrator may temporarily block you after an appropriate amount of time if it does not conform to Wookieepedia's signature policy -- we really don't care what happens on other wikis, even Wikia wikis, to be honest. Greyman(Talk) 02:16, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
It doesn't realy say why. It doesn't matter on signatures on other wikias, why should it matter here? It doesn't matter what your signature is, as long as you contribute to the wiki and have fun. Isn't that all that realy matters? -- Pirakafreak24 ( Talk ) I'm protesting the sig policy on wookiepedia.progress-wheel.gif 02:23, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
Policies are policies, and consensus is consensus. Like I said, we don't care in the least what other wikis do -- we enforce and uphold our policies regardless of what other wikis/communities do. Greyman(Talk) 02:24, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

Only one link?[]

It says that we're only allowed to have one relevant link. Didn't it used to be two? Do I seriously have to change my signature? Again?—B-Boba Fett! He'll kill us all! Jaster's Feather 01:07, November 15, 2009 (UTC)

  • From what I understand, it's supposed to be one link in addition to a link to your userpage, so your sig is fine. The wording could be clearer, though. —Master Jonathan(Jedi Council Chambers) 01:10, November 15, 2009 (UTC)
OK, thanks.—B-Boba Fett! He'll kill us all! Jaster's Feather 19:47, November 15, 2009 (UTC)
