Boba Fett's Theme
Edit
Do we have any official sources saying the theme heard in Cloud City in TESB is Boba Fett's theme? It's not in any of the other films in which he appears, and I think it plays a few times when he's not there. -Milo Fett[Comlink] 14:43, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
- I don't know. Ozzel stated that it was a minor theme in his massive detailed "how to" guide to music articles. You might ask him. Master Fredcerique 12:43, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
Layouts
Edit
Hey! We need to have article layout guides to help with the creation and editing of every type of real world music article. Any ideas? --Master Fredcerique 12:44, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
- Here's what I think (at least for articles on themes): first should be the introduction (as with all articles), then should come a section on symbolism (this section would describe how exactly the theme represents whatever it's supposed to represent, it may be hard to source, though), and next should come a section on appearances in soundtracks (a list of all the tracks and the time in the track when the theme is heard, see Star Wars Main Title for example). Master Fredcerique 12:38, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
- That sounds good. That's what I'm doing on Rebel Fanfare (music theme). -Milo Fett[Comlink] 13:54, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

I suggest to the project leader and the creator of the articles to start looking for a way to incorporate those articles into the articles on the soundtrack, which I'm willing and ready to help him with. MauserComlink 05:14, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
- Hey! I, Master Fredcerique, am the creator of almost all of these articles. I will try whenever I can to merge the info. Thanks! Master Fredcerique 12:47, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
- Taken care of. MauserComlink 11:04, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

Definition of a theme
Edit
We need to define what is a reccuring musical theme in the scores, since we're going to delere everything that isn't one. I suggest to use the following definition: A theme is the reccuring motif in the Star Wars scores, which is used in more than one film and is associated either with a major Character (Anakin's Theme) or with a significant concept in the Saga (Force Theme). If we apply this definition to the existing articles, then the following will have to go:
- The Battle Of Yavin (music theme)
- Hyperspace (music theme)
- Jawa's theme
- Rebel Fanfare (music theme)
- Tie Fighter Attack (music theme)
All of above are not themes, but rather a name of the track, somehow inedtified with a theme (with the exception of Jawa's theme). They aren't actually notable enough and have to go. Opinions? MauserComlink 05:14, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
- The Rebel Fanfare is used not only in the end credits of every movie, but also in Return of the Jedi at the Sarlacc Pit (and possibly in RotS' full soundtrack, though I'm not sure). That can probably count as a theme, since the Rebels are a significant concept. Tie Fighter Attack can stay or go, since they only ever use it again in RotJ and TIE fighters attacking isn't necessarily a major theme in the movies; but rather a plot device. -Milo Fett[Comlink] 13:48, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
- I watched OT more than 10 times and listened to the soundtracks more than I can remember, but don't remember either Rebel Fanfare or Tie Fighter Attack theme anywhere in ROTJ. Maybe it's just me though. Even if those two stay, do you agree than the rest should go? MauserComlink 14:07, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
- In RotJ, check The Pit of Carkoon/Sail Barge Assault (from 1:31) and The Battle of Endor III (from the beginning). I agree that all of them except Rebel Fanfare should go, since Tie Fighter Attack is just an arrangement of Rebel Fanfare anyway. -Milo Fett[Comlink] 14:24, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
- I listened to those two again and they sound very different borh from each other and "The Throne Room" version of a Rebel Fanfare. I'm redirecting this one for now. MauserComlink 10:54, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
- Maybe we're thinking of something different for the Rebel Fanfare. I'm thinking of the "da-daaaah, da, da-daaaah, da, da-daaaaaaaaaaaaaah, daah dah dah daah" representing the Rebel Alliance as heard in the sources I mentioned, heard most prominently in "The Death Star/The Stormtroopers" on the ANH soundtrack at 0:57. I'm not positive it is, but the original article said the theme was used "extensively in Episode IV, and less frequently in the other episodes." The entry on the Musical Score page seems to support this with the audio clip of the Rebel Fanfare. "The Throne Room" is a different Rebel fanfare of sorts, but it's not the Rebel Fanfare. -Milo Fett[Comlink] 15:16, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
- Wow, I haven't realized we were referring to different subjects here. Feel free to recreate the page from the redirect, but be sure to expand it to avoid further confusion: some examples of the usage would be appreciated. MauserComlink 15:21, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
- Ok. It's one of those cues that they never give the official name for on the soundtrack. I never even knew it had a name for a long time! -Milo Fett[Comlink] 15:49, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
- Be aware, that the name "Rebel Fanfare" is unsourced and can still be conjectural. MauserComlink 15:52, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
- Hey! I just found that the theme is called the Rebel Fanfare. It says in the booklet in the Empire Strikes Back Special Edition soundtrack. Thanks!--Master Fredcerique 14:33, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

Jobs and Assignments
Edit
Hey! I say each individual should take on certain jobs and assignments that pertain to a certain main topic, like on many other WookieeProjects. Comments? Master Fredcerique 16:57, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
Star Wars Vault
Edit
Although I have no intention yet of writing for this fine WookieeProject, you may wish to know that pages 36-9 of The Star Wars Vault have a lot of information on the LSO in general. A vague summary is as such:
- Brief descriptions of several concerts that John Williams conducted.
- An insert (reproduction) of the program for "The LSO in space" on 16/Feb/78 which includes:
- Short biographies of John Williams, David Atherton & the LSO.
- A list of the members at the time.
- An article by John Williams on writing music for Star Wars (ANH).
- A description of the concert's music.
- A copy of a ticket for that concert (1978)
- A brief overview of the release of the Star Wars soundtrack.
- A sentence here states Williams inspiration for using leitmotifs.
- An image of the cover for a vinyl containing "Main Title" and Cantina Band" (1978)
- A caption of an image (1977) that reads (and the image shows): "John Williams may be the only composer-conductor today to still record movie soundtracks while watching the film projected on a large screen; others use TV monitors."
- An insert (reproduction) of a sheet of music for the End Credits of AotC which I think (having no knowledge of sheet music) is only 4 bars long.
I'm happy to check verbatim for info and/or upload images for WP:RWM if needed. Nayayen

Articles on LSO members
Edit
Hey! Which members of the LSO should get articles? Should we vote? I think they all should, or at least the ones that performed during the movie score recordings. What do y'all think? Master Fredcerique 04:06, September 19, 2009 (UTC)
Project name
Edit
This project is not about world music that is authentic, which is what the phrase "real world music" means. It is about music that exists in the real world, which is correctly written "real-world music."
I made this fix in the RWM template, but I don't want to step on any toes by changing the name of a project I'm not involved in, so I leave that for a project member to address. Asithol 01:53, February 26, 2012 (UTC)
