Wookieepedian of the Month is an award given to outstanding Wookieepedians each month. To nominate someone, please list the person's username below and give the reason why you are nominating them. Optionally, you may place the {{UserNominated}} template at the top of the nominee's user page, but only after asking for and receiving the user's consent to do so. Nominations will be accepted until the end of the month. The administrators will then review the nominations, vote for the WotM, and present the award on the 1st of the following month.

Try to nominate someone who has not received the award before. Nominations for those who have won the award within the past six months will be dismissed.

Please vote only once, and only vote for another user. Duplicate votes, self-votes, and self-nominations will be removed.

Voting ends at 0:00 UTC on the first day of the month. Nominations for the next calendar month may be placed as soon as the winner is announced.

Congratulations goes to our most recent winner, Ifindyourlackoffaithdisturbing, for November 2014. See History for a complete list of past winners.

Nominations for January 2015

For the upkeep of Canon articles he gets my vote. He has done what many have proven unwilling to do.AV-6R7User talk:AV-6R7 02:13, December 1, 2014 (UTC)
For the same reason as above, per original nomination and for doing the grunt work of adding Appearance information that certainly can't be considered glamorous, but is necessary. ProfessorTofty (talk) 02:17, December 1, 2014 (UTC)

  1. I want to say first and foremost that I absolutely hate opposing WOTM votes. I think the only person I've ever opposed before was Naru (the reasoning there should go without saying). WOTM should be a celebration of someone's value to Wookieepedia, not a debate over whether or not a person is qualified for this recognition. But in this case, I have to echo what Winterz originally said here regarding Cevan's behavioral history, and I absolutely disagree with ProfessorTofty's assertion below that Cevan has learned from his mistakes. His talk page is indeed a concern, specifically regarding what I can only term a tendency for edit-warring. While his two warnings regarding this came over the summer, I observed first-hand a mini blowup just this past Friday regarding content from the Episode 7 trailer. It's quite evident from the edit summary that Cevan reverted in frustration/anger, I'm assuming because I was reverting a few of his other Episode 7 trailer edits at the time. While this is certainly a minor incident at best and no one should ever be judged for a single misstep, I think this combined with his talk page reveals a certain pattern of hotheadedness, which shouldn't be rewarded. I think Cevan still has quite a bit to learn about how to handle himself in stressful editing situations, which is something you gain over time, not three or four months. Cevan, I hope you take this criticism constructively, because I would love to support you for this award in the future, and I hope you continue improving as a user on Wookieepedia. 2. Hear hear. Everything Toprawa correctly mentioned above can be solved with more experience and by learning from his mistakes. As it is now, he isn't ready. Good and active contributions aren't enough for someone to be ready for a WOTM, attitude means a lot too. When he is, hell, I'll nominate him myself. Until then, I'll have to vote strongly against. Winterz (talk) 16:30, December 1, 2014 (UTC)
  3. I concur with Toprawa and Winterz. --Nostalgia of Iran (talk) 16:45, December 1, 2014 (UTC)

I believe he has learned from his mistakes and has heeded the warnings that he has been issued. ProfessorTofty (talk) 02:19, December 1, 2014 (UTC)

  • Ah. I was unaware of the other incident being referred to. Based on that, I can certainly understand the reasons for the opposition. However, I'm not withdrawing my support because the earlier incidents being referred to happened several months ago and don't appear to have been anything major. Furthermore, the other incident being referred to happened on Trailer Day, unless there's some other incident I'm not aware of, and I think a lot of us were a bit out of our heads then with trailer exuberance and the fatigue from Thanksgiving and everything. ProfessorTofty (talk) 16:49, December 1, 2014 (UTC)
    • Okay, after looking more closely, the earlier warnings were about something fairly major, but again, over four-and-a-half months ago. ProfessorTofty (talk) 16:51, December 1, 2014 (UTC)

  1. Exiledjedi or EJ, as we know him, won WOTM way back in September 2011 when we barely even knew who he was. In the three-plus years since, he has risen to become simply one of the finest contributors Wookieepedia has ever known. He's a leading member of all three article reviewing panels and singlehandedly champions the EduCorps CAN reviewing system as its unquestioned de facto leader. Without him putting in the time and work, that thing would cease to exist from lack of activity. He's an outstanding administrator and community developer who is always at the forefront of initiatives designed to make Wookieepedia better. Although we try to look to nominate people for WOTM who haven't won before, what EJ has achieved as a user since September 2011 makes him duly deserving to win this award for a second time. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 17:38, December 2, 2014 (UTC)
  2. Are we allowed to double-vote? I considered nominating Exiledjedi, but avoided it because the thing about having already won. Now that he's nominated, I'll certainly throw in some support, if that's okay, given that the other nomination doesn't look like it's happening for now. ProfessorTofty (talk) 18:10, December 2, 2014 (UTC)
    • Then you need to strike your other vote. Winterz (talk) 18:21, December 2, 2014 (UTC)

  13. Absolutely. As Tope said, without EJ, the CAN would have fallen apart. He is, without a doubt, one of the hardest working users on this site. He is both a good friend, and an outstanding Wookieepedian. Supreme Emperor (talk) 04:37, December 4, 2014 (UTC)
  14. I'm inclined to agree. Corellian PremierJedi symbolThe Force will be with you always 21:49, December 20, 2014 (UTC)
