World of Fire is a comic story which serves as the first part of a three part comics series written by Chris Claremont, originally published in the UK's Star Wars Weekly 107-109. It was later reprinted in 1981 in Marvel Illustrated Books Star Wars 2: World of Fire, where it was named after the first part published in Star Wars Weekly 107. The other two original parts are Star Terror and Molten Doom. The story was continued in The Word for World is Death and The Guardian of Forever.
World of Fire tells the story of Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, and Mici Shabandar in the process of stealing an experimental ship from the Galactic Empire, known as the Staraker. After almost escaping, they are shot down in the Alashan system and crash land in a lava field on the planet Alashan.
