Wraith was the codename of an Imperial spy operating during the early years of the New Republic. He destroyed an intelligence network controlled by New Republic Intelligence Service agent Breslin Drake, and was subsequently chased across the Kathol sector.
Biography
Edit
The Wraith infiltrated a hidden New Republic installation which was part of the "Archive system." Managing to destroy a good portion of the network, he fled once he was discovered by Major Drake. He fled to the Kathol Sector, and entered the service of Moff Kentor Sarne as an assassin and saboteur. Using toxins from all over the sector, the Wraith was used by Sarne to silence his political opponents.
Using the alias Klendost Petrivoor, the Wraith traveled to Sebiris to obtain more poisons, trading primitive flintlock slugthrowers to the native Sebiri. He was eventually run off by the natives for trespassing on their holy ground, but did stash a small freighter on the planet.
Several months prior to the Battle of Kal'Shebbol, he was assigned to infiltrate the Bombaasa Cartel on Pembric II. Using the alias Drenn, he worked as a bouncer at the ThrusterBurn tapcafe, and was working his way up through the organization's ranks. Ironically, he was working for the man who was hunting him. Drake had been tracking him for two years, bent on revenge for his past actions. Needing to get off planet and rejoin Sarne once he had learned of the Moff's retreat from Kal'Shebbol, he assisted Drake and crew of the FarStar in liberating the slicer Gaelin from the Cartel, and left the planet with them.
Remaining on the FarStar, the Wraith began to concoct a plan to return to Sarne's forces, and assassinate Kaiya Adrimetrum. During a layover on Galtea, he accessed a transmitter and relayed the FarStar's position to one of Sarne's roving fleets. Using his position as part of the maintenance team, he reprogrammed one of the K4 security droids on the bridge and fitted it with a miniature dart gun, which was loaded with a poison-tipped dart. He then placed a shaped charge near a power conduit close to the captain's chair.
During the Battle of Galtea, which he was responsible for instigating, the Wraith struck. Using remote commands, he triggered both the miniature dart gun and the shaped charge. The ruse worked - Adrimetrum was struck by the poison dart, but it appeared that the explosion injured her instead. With Adrimetrum in a coma, an investigation after the battle revealed the true cause of her condition. The FarStar headed for Sebiris in search of a cure. While on the surface, the Wraith was called by his alias, Petrivoor, by the natives. Drake, having learned the name on a previous visit to the planet, suddenly realized who he was. With his cover blown, the Wraith fled into the jungle, leaving the FarStar crew and the Sebiri to face each other. He eventually reached the ship he had stashed on the planet, and escaped to rejoin Sarne's forces.
