Wrist rockets were a light wristband with a powerful punch. They were a favorite of bounty hunters due to their discreet nature and power. The Kelvarek Consolidated Arms MM9 rocket system system was used by Boba Fett. The MM9 used "dumb rockets" (missiles with no tracking ability) and homing missiles. The wristband and rocket combined their computer system in order to do this. The target locked onto movement ahead of it and the missile's targeting laser allowed it to home in on enemies. The missile itself was fired by the touch of a button.

Aside from dumb rockets and homing missiles, there were many more exotic rockets that could be purchased, such as rockets that were coated in nerve toxin or that exploded with enough force to destroy a speeder bike. The range of the weapon depended greatly on the missile in use. Many rockets had a maximum range of twenty-five meters, while a few could reach seventy-five meters.

The technology of wrist rockets and their launchers was is use since at least four thousand years prior to the Battle of Yavin. The bounty-hunter-turned-Jedi Knight Mira was particularly skilled with them. Direct-fire wrist rockets were also utilized by B2 super battle droids.
