The YVH 5 Bugcruncher war droid was a variation of the highly successful YVH 1 droid developed by Tendrando Arms during the Yuuzhan Vong War. Though they were built primarily to combat the Killiks, they retained the YVH designation and were first used by Han Solo to attack the Dark Nest on Kr.

An entire squad of Bugcrunchers known as Stomper Brigade, under the command of Grand Master Luke Skywalker, were used by the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances in the Battle of Tenupe to retake Admiral Ackbar. All of these were 5-S models and were capable of spaceflight.
