The stingers of queens from the Yalvik species were considered delicacies on several planets. During the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the clone trooper Wrecker cut off the stinger of a Yalvik queen on Yalvik Prime while he was there as part of the elite Republic squad Clone Force 99 putting down an insurrection. Wrecker's squadmate Tech later informed Clone Force 99 and several other clones of the fact that stingers were considered delicacies.[1]
Behind the scenes
The stingers were first mentioned in "The Bad Batch," an episode of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series. The episode was written to be part of the show's sixth season, but The Clone Wars was canceled before it was made and released. The unfinished story reels of the episodes were then shown at Celebration Anaheim in 2015, before being released on StarWars.com later that year as part of The Clone Wars Legacy.
