The Ychna was a Yuuzhan Vong bio-engineered monster used during the Battle of Duro during the Yuuzhan Vong War. It took the form of a gargantuan space-faring serpent with a voracious appetite. This space slug-like creature had a wedge-shaped head and a mouth eighty meters wide - large enough for an entire squadron of X-wings to fly through. A fleshy pouch covered its dorsal blowhole, allowing the Ychna to survive the cold depths of space.

Upon its release above Duro, it coiled itself around the orbital city of Orr-Om and began gorging itself on the construct and its inhabitants. The ychna would have continued its feeding frenzy and killed thousands, had it not been for the actions of Jedi Knight Anakin Solo. During the battle, he made an attack run on the beast on board his X-wing and launched a proton torpedo down its throat. The following explosion pulverized the ychna's head, destroying the beast.

In the final days of the war, the ychna was deployed against Caluula Station.
