A yellow power droid roamed the streets of Anchorhead, a city on the planet Tatooine in 0 BBY.[2] It was a class five[1] power droid, produced before the Battle of Yavin. The droid witnessed as an old woman was nearly run over by Luke Skywalker, the nephew of a local moisture farmer named Owen Lars. The young farmboy was hurrying to the Tosche power station in his X-34 landspeeder to tell his friends about a battle he had spotted over their planet. The woman quickly ran out of Skywalker's way and shouted angrily after him.[2][3]
Behind the scenes

- "A yellow power droid is hiding in the background."
- ―David West Reynolds

The scene featuring this yellow power droid was filmed in front of a mosque in Djerba, Tunisia, during the principal photography of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope on April 4, 1976. The scene was cut before the theatrical release of the film,[4] but appeared in two adaptations: in the 1976 novelization and in the first issue of Marvel Comics' Star Wars series. However, neither of them mentioned or depicted the yellow power droid.[3][5] In 1998, the Star Wars Insider 41 magazine published a shot of the cut scene in The Lost Cut of Star Wars article, written by David West Reynolds.[2]
