Yoda (song)

This article is about the song. You may be looking for the Jedi Master named Yoda.
"Prior to The Empire Strikes Back, the thought of writing a song about Yoda had never occurred to me."
"Weird Al" Yankovic[src]

"Yoda" is a song parody by "Weird Al" Yankovic of "Lola", recounting Luke Skywalker's training under Jedi Master Yoda on Dagobah in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. Yankovic had written the song even before his debut album in 1983, but it was not released until 1985, on his album Dare to Be Stupid.

Yoda ChantEdit

Because the lyrics become repetitive at the end of the song, Weird Al eventually added a new element to his live performances of "Yoda," an eccentric recitation called the "Yoda Chant." The chant is performed simultaneously by all the performers on stage and begins usually two or three repetitions in. As part of the performance, Weird Al at first appears confused by the chant, then joins the chant.
