Zadawi was a young Arkanian Offshoot on Arkania during the time of the Mandalorian Wars. She lived in an Offshoot area of the planet, restricted by Adascorp from entering the pureblood cities. She lived with her father and his mother, and had a reputation for hanging out with "rabble-rousers." In 3,963 BBY she helped disguise Jarael for sneaking into Adascopolis, as she and her friends had been doing it for years.
Zadawi wanted to escape offworld, but realized that that would be selfish, and sought some way to help the other Offshoots besides running away from them.
Behind the scenes
Edit
- "For Zadawi, I asked Brian to come up with someone that would really hold a mirror up to Jarael. Not just literally (as she does in this issue), but suggesting what Jarael's life might have been like if she'd lived in the forbidding recesses of Arkania, rather than Taris. Zadawi's got a spunky against-all-odds resilience about her, and I think Brian captured that well."
- ―John Jackson Miller
Zadawi's first and only appearance to date was in Knights of the Old Republic 16, the first installment in the Nights of Anger story arc of the Knights of the Old Republic comic series. The issue was written by John Jackson Miller and penciled by Brian Ching. Only one further indirect reference to Zadawi was made during the series' 50-issue run, when Jarael said in Knights of the Old Republic 36 that she would like to send money to "some friends on Arkania."
