Zaz Hamiroz was a miner who traveled with Hanos Darr to the Graveyard to search for valuable ores. Hamiroz discovered that the rumored existence of the former Royal Palace of Alderaan on Asteroid 7785 was false. The rumor had been propagated by Darth Vader to lure Leia Organa into a trap. The miners reached the Ithorian herd ship Bazaar and attempted to send a message to the Rebel Alliance. All the while, the pair were being tracked by XS3, an assassin droid.

Their message was eventually intercepted by Poliss, a Rebel Alliance operative, who sprung the trap before Organa could. Eventually, a piece of the Royal Palace was discovered lodged into the asteroid.
