Zenn-La was a galactic location and the homeworld of Jlibbous, a chef who was renowned for greatness[1] in the centuries before the Battle on Takodana.[2]

Behind the scenesEdit

Zenn-La was first mentioned in the epilogue of "A Recipe for Death," a short story written by Landry Q. Walker and published by Disney–Lucasfilm Press in Tales From a Galaxy Far, Far Away Volume I: Aliens[1] on April 5, 2016.[3] The location shares its name with the home planet of the Silver Surfer from Marvel Comics,[4] although Walker has stated that the connection was unintentional.[5]

  2. "A Recipe for Death" establishes that Strono Tuggs has served in Maz Kanata's castle for more than twenty years, and Star Wars Character Encyclopedia: Updated and Expanded establishes that Tuggs served in the castle for centuries before the Battle on Takodana. As such, "A Recipe for Death" must take place at least 180 years before the battle.
