Zerm was once a planet with a weird weather and killer-storms. The planet was described by its inhabitants as a hell-hole.[3]

After its transformation by the Ionic Ring, Zerm became a verdant paradise with crops and rainforests.[3]

The Ionic Ring transforms the weather on Zerm

During the Galactic Civil War, Zerm was a peaceful planet.[3]

In 0 ABY, Zerm became the site of the first demonstration of the Ionic Ring. Professor Renn Volz and his daughter Mira, at the controls of the ship, altered the destructive forces of nature on the planet to turn it into a paradise.[3]

After this first successful testing, Captain Bzorn commandeered the Ionic Ring with the intent of using it to destroy Rebel planets.[3]
