Zero Squadron comprised two dozen starfighter pilots under the command of Fleet Admiral Klyn Shanga on behalf of the Renatasian Confederation. The Squadron hunted the so-called Butcher of Renatasia and attatched their fighters with long cables to the hyperdrive engine of a large dreadnought to enable the starfighters to travel through hyperspace, and later to a starship's pinnace -- acquired by pilot Bern Nuladeg -- for the purpose of providing enhanced shielding to the fighters.
